CTN is mandatory for NEW MOTOR VEHICLES (where the age does NOT exceed Six Months). Used Motor Vehicles OLDER THAN SIX MONTHS are exempted from CTN application so no need to apply.

Established 2011 in Ghana as the first step towards CTN Africa, the aim of the Group is to provide a global online platform for African Customs Authorities to successfully implement Trade Facilitation recommendations by International Maritime Organisation (IMO), World Trade Organisation (WTO) and World Customs Organisation (WCO).

It is mandatory for all shipments to Ghana to have a CTN (Cargo Tracking Notes) number, without which cargo cannot be cleared at Destination.

CARGO TRACKING NOTES (CTN) - COMPLIANCE NOTICE by COMMISSIONER-GENERAL

It has come to the attention of the Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) that some companies listed to comply with the CTN implementation have for some time now failed to comply with the directive.

The Commissioner-General wishes to remind all such companies that the CTN Policy is mandatory and that failure to comply with the directive will soon lead to inconveniences upon the arrival of Cargo as well as attract punitive measures under Customs law.  Kindly take note and be advised accordingly.
